This TV installation and wall mount Newport Beach Northern Beaches Sydney was a bit of a tricky installation today.   The customer purchased the house with an existing wall mount above a fireplace.   They purchased a new Sony 60 inch LCD TV to take the place of an older Toshiba 42 in LCD.

The previous Toshiba LCD TV was connected to a DVD player and PVR recorder but was only connected with analog (component) cables.   We had to remove the air vents from the fireplace to reveal and to gain access to all the cables.   We removed all the analog cables and replaced them with new HDMI cables and a new coax cable for FTA.

Once we had finished replacing all the cables we put the tv up onto the bracket with some help from a friendly neighbour.  The tv found all available free to air channels and connected to the wifi modem.

Overall it took longer than expected but it went well.

This TV installation and wall mount Avalon Northern Beaches Sydney was a very quick and simple tv installation.   The customer had moved into his unit for a few years and had been wanting to wall mount his Sony LCD TV to the wall for a while.   The customer supplied his own wall mounting bracket.

The customer and I choose the best height and positioning of the TV to suit their needs.   We connected the Apple TV and Foxtel Play back up to the internet.

This was an interesting Television Installation Cromer Northern Beaches Sydney as the customer previously had a Philips plasma tv wall mounted and was now replacing it with a new Sony LCD TV.

Upon inspecting the wall for the required studs we found the wall to be a bit of a mess and upon speaking to the builder he advised us to not touch the wall and leave it as it is.

The previous Philips tv weighed about 43 kg and has been on the wall for about 10 years with no trouble and the new tv is only about 13 kg.   As the customer as adamant to mount the new tv we decided to fix the new bracket onto the existing bracket.

We fixed the power supply to the back of the tv and hid all the cables and Apple TV behind the TV.   The Foxtel IQ1 box, DVD player and Amplifier were located over the other side of the room hidden in a cupboard.

Overall the TV installation turned out well and the customers were very pleased.

As tv’s are getting larger and thinner these days most people want to wall mount their new fancy tv onto the wall.   A common question I get asked is can you explain the difference between the wall brackets.

There are basically 2 types; fixed/tilt and full motion.

Fixed / tilt

This type of bracket is so the tv fits flat to the wall.   They can move up and down about 15 degrees, but not side to side.   The maximum weight for these is about 60 kg.

Full motion

Full motion brackets mean the tv can move up and down the 15 degrees, and moves from left to right.  The distance from the wall ranges from 115mm to 515mm. The maximum TV weight capacity is 60kg.
