What is HDMI-CEC?

What is HDMI-CEC?

HDMI-CEC is a a feature that is built into most consumer electronics today with HDMI. It is a built in system for allowing your Audio and Video components to Communicate with each other. But, in order for it to work, your devices must support HDMI-CEC. Not all HDMI components support HDMI-CEC. Although, HDMI-CEC goes by many names depending on the manufacturer. Here are some other names that are the same as HDMI-CEC: Anynet or Anynet+ (Samsung); Aquos Link (Sharp); BRAVIA Sync (Sony); HDMI-CEC (Hitachi); Kuro Link (Pioneer); CE-Link and Regza Link (Toshiba); RIHD (Remote Interactive over HDMI) (Onkyo); SimpLink (LG); HDAVI Control, EZ-Sync, and VIERA Link (Panasonic); EasyLink (Philips).

Benefits of sound bars

Benefits of sound bars

Sound bars have been created as an alternative to surround sound systems.   A simple 5.1 surround sound system consists of a centre, left, right and 2 rear speakers, plus a sub woofer.   A sound bar as you can see is much more simple.   It consists of a the long bar with matching a sub woofer.

Benefits of sound bars

Sound bars are more targeted to smaller rooms or for those people not wanting the 5 speakers around the room and messy cables along the floor.   I find these a good solution for people struggling to hear from their new flat panel TV as the speakers are tiny and give a very poor performance.
